Explore the lesser known world of the so-called 'guitar mania' of 19th century Paris at St Mary's latest free lunchtime concert on Friday, May 17.

Musician Thomas Siemens, a doctoral student at Guildhall School of Music and Drama, is researching improvisation on the guitar in the 19th century. The concert will return to a time when Paris was a centre of the musical world and perhaps the most important centre for the guitar.

Come along 1.15pm to 2.15pm at the church in Upper Street. Free hot drinks and cake are served from 12.45pm.
