"TRAMPOLINE is a café in Camden Passage which serves Sri Lankan cuisine and offers employment to individuals in London’s refugee communities. My boyfriend and I went to TRAMPOLINE on our anniversary on my parents’ recommendation. They had not actually been to the place themselves, but had takeaway and said it was amazing.

A café during the day, it stays open until 8pm Wednesdays to Sundays so you can grab an early dinner. We booked a table for 6:30pm and when we arrived we weren’t sure it was still open as it there was just one man behind the counter and seemingly nowhere to sit. He immediately took our dietary requirements and pointed us upstairs and said he would be up with some food.

Upstairs we entered a colourful room with funky music playing through the speakers with only a few tables, and a window seat which looks down into Camden Passage. There was only one other couple in the room and we were a little unsure what to expect, but when the food arrived all our fears were assuaged.

We were brought two huge platters with a range of different vegetarian curries, freshly made, with a sizeable helping of rice. The food was absolutely delicious (and extremely reasonable in price given the quantity and tastiness!). As we were leaving, the waiter/chef even got the owner up on FaceTime to speak to us as he wanted to apologise for his absence as he wasn’t feeling well.

It was such a lovely experience – simple, delicious and no fuss. Overall, a wonderful place for a casual bite to eat!"
